Description

We spent a week in Iceland last week and were desperately hoping to get a good view of the northern lights. I even installed several apps to help alert us if conditions got right. On the second night we had a weak showing but you could still see some movement in them across the horizon. The 4th night had an even weaker showing that didn't get above the treetops. Then on our second to last night we were treated to this show! It lasted for well over an hour! The tricky part to this panoramic was using enough exposure to get a good capture and then moving the camera in between shots quick enough that I would still be able to stitch all three shots together. This view encompasses around 120deg of the horizon. The glow that extends up above the main arcs wasn't easily visible to the naked eye but showed up quite nicely on the camera.
